The Evolution of SMV: How Virtual Assistance Transformed into a Thriving Consulting Business 🎉

🎉🎉 As we approach the significant milestone of our 5-year business anniversary, I can’t help but reflect on the incredible journey that has led us to this point. 🎉🎉 Back in 2018, I stumbled upon a Facebook group discussing Virtual Assistants (VA’s) and shout out to The Virtual Savvy for introducing me to this world. 😲 After spending several years immersed in corporate administration and management roles, I found myself at a crossroads, contemplating my next move. Little did I know, a whole new world awaited me in this newfound virtual career. Intrigued, I delved into months of research, absorbing everything I could about being a VA. The more I discovered, the more I realized it was a perfect fit for me! That’s when I made the bold decision to establish my very own virtual assistant business. 💼

 It wasn’t an easy start, but my determination never wavered. That’s when I came across Upwork, and let me tell you, it’s quite a challenge to get going on that platform. However, I persisted and eventually secured my first few clients, some of whom still work with us to this day. I poured in hard work, dedicating long hours and constantly expanding my skill set, even learning a multitude of new software I had never encountered in the corporate world. My goal was clear: succeed as a virtual assistant and gradually build up my client base. 💪 

Initially, I had to accept lower pay just to get my foot in the door. However, as I gained more experience and honed my skills, I steadily climbed the ladder, embracing new challenges in this exciting and enjoyable role. 🏋️‍♂️

🤖 Surprisingly, I discovered that my previous 10 years of corporate experience had already shaped me into a system implementer—I was the go-to person for all things software-related, and I loved it.

As my business flourished, I aspired to take it to the next level by expanding my services and team. I started by establishing my own Upwork agency and assembled a group of talented professionals who shared my passion for virtual assistance, project management, and business systems consulting. 🤝 In 2020, I formed a partnership with ClickUp, embarking on a magical journey that I’m incredibly grateful for. It was here that I truly found my calling. Assisting businesses in creating efficiencies with affordable and customizable software solutions became my passion, and ClickUp stood out among the best.

Since then, SMV Virtual Consulting has partnered with five other powerhouse software companies (Airtable, SmartSuite, Monday.com, Asana, and Zapier). We assist clients in finding the right software solutions to meet their team’s needs, while also providing staff to support the day-to-day activities of their business.

Today, SMV Virtual Consulting has successfully completed over 150 jobs on Upwork and has grown into a team of 12 professionals. I couldn’t be prouder of the remarkable team I’ve assembled at SMV Virtual Consulting. Our team is comprised of thoughtful, driven, and passionate individuals who genuinely invest in our clients’ success.
